The Internet of Things
The “internet of things” refers to the large network of different devices that can connect either to each other or to the internet. The internet of things includes things we use in our everyday lives like smartphones and medical devices.
The internet of things, however, doesn’t just affect consumers. It also has a significant impact on many different industries, and it is changing the way that businesses operate. By the year 2020, the Gartner analyst firm believes that the internet of things will contain over 26 million devices, including things as important as jet engines and oil drills.
About the Book
This e-book provides an accurate, concise explanation of what the “internet of things” is and how it works. Near the beginning of the book, Jason Hope points out the fact that technology is involved in nearly every aspect of our daily lives in modern world. He even refers to it as a “disruptive source of innovation,” but Hope also acknowledges that many different industries has been able to use the internet to solve problems and do thins more efficiently.
Later, he goes on to explain how we can correctly use the modern technology network in our homes to improves our safety. Hope places a lot of emphasis on using the internet of things in the most responsible way possible.
About the Author
Jason is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, and he is an entrepreneur, philanthropist and futurist. He holds an MBA from Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business. Hope recently gave the SENS Foundation, a nonprofit that researches bio-technologies and age-related diseases, a $500,000 donation.
For someone who is new to the “internet of things” concept, his e-book will be a great and informative introduction.
